There are advantages and disadvantages in owning a credit card. The first advantage is that owning a credit card can raise your credit score, especially if you pay your bill in full. Charging more than forty percent on your credit card will lower your credit score. The second advantage is that they are great to have for an emergency. Anything can happen, like having your car breakdown or the loss of a major household appliance, qualifies as an extreme emergency. Try and limit yourself to items that you cannot live without. The third advantage is that you do not have to carry a lot of cash with you, especially if you travel. You can just use your credit card. The fourth advantages are the reward points that banks offer you while using your credit card. These required points for each item you want can be used for anything, cash, gift certificates, or traveling just to name a few.
There are advantages of having good credit in life. You will be able to go anywhere and do anything you need to do in life and not have to worry about bad credit. You can buy a car or get a car loan, get a better mortgage rate or a better loan if you need one. All these things and more are available if you have good credit rating.
There is good and bad to everything that exists today and credit cards are no exception. It all amounts on how well you manage your money and credit cards and how much you want to spend. This is no lesson learned at school or college but one lesson that a person has to learn about themselves. Only you know how to manage your money, no one else can.
