A credit card for a college student can come in handy for the holidays, but it is important to remember that college student credit cards need to be used responsibly. This means avoiding impulse buy gifts. What is an impulsive purchase? Any gift you buy that you don’t plan on buying. It’s wise to create a gift list along side your spending budget. Everyone knows how much money they are taking in each month. Keep this in mind when creating your gift budget. That’s the easy part. The challenging aspect comes in when temptation of buying that cute stuffed animal for Stacey, the one that is right beside the register. Avoid purchases like this as they are designed to get another $15 out of you at the last minute. Think to yourself WHAT did I come to this store to purchase, WHAT is on my gift list? Stick to your budget. Pay it all off, when possible, every month. Use your student credit card wisely.
