Finding the right student credit cards for yourself does not need to be as complicated as some make it out to be. Keep it simple.

How?
Compare end evaluate from 3 to 5 of the top student credit cards and prepaid debit cards to keep from becoming overwhelmed. Focus on the interest rate; specifically what is the introductory rate vs. the actual annual rate once the intro period is over. It’s often better to have a fixed ultra low APR vs. a zero percent “intro” rate that has a 18+% interest rate thereafter.

When you consider different student credit card offers, make sure you’re considering well know brands.

How much does each credit card charge for over the limit fees and late payment fees? Read the fine print in the terms & disclosures on each credit card offer before applying.

Consider a private student loan instead of a student credit card as sometimes interest rates on private loans are less.

Starting 02.22.10 students and consumers under 21 will need proof of income or a cosigner to obtain a student credit card.
