Students and Credit cards – Low APR

When college students get low apr credit cards for the first time many of them are not aware that this is to give them a start in having a credit history that can allow them to buy things such as a car, home, and other stuff that requires the use of credit such as furniture and appliances. Many students are approached to apply for low apr credit cards, but they don’t see the fact that the interest rate on some of them is pretty high and the lines of credit that they don’t need. College students don’t make a lot on their job to afford high levels of credit.

That’s why some credit card companies have student credit cards for college age students that carries a lower interest rate and a credit line they can manage to give students a chance at establishing themselves a history and building it up. Companies offer student credit cards LOW APR for those who are applying for the first time and have never had credit before. Parents are usually the co-signers on a student credit card when a student is trying to establish him or herself to getting some credit.

Most that get a student credit card usually have a small part time job to pay their bills and to start building on their credit history by paying their bills on time. Student credit cards are good for students to have because they can rent cars and book plane tickets with it. Not to mention making large-scale purchases they can pay for over time and not being late with the payments.

Student credit cards are also good for helping a student manage their finances and to be financially responsible on a budget. Credit cards are often the most abused because students will start over spending and overcharging their cards that can eventually end up on their credit history. Students who use a student credit card are learning how to use credit for the first time and it may take a few slip ups to get it right in terms of balancing out their ability to manage their finances while in school.

This is why you see so many credit card representatives on college campuses getting students to sign up for student credit cards and even some banks have resorted to doing the same thing while getting students signed up for bank accounts as well.
