Student credit card debt: Why are so many students are messing up their credit?

Students and credit card debt does not work well together because when you have mountains debt that can pose a problem. That can make it hard to get things that need credit like cars, houses, and other things that require the use of credit to get.

Most student credit card debt is due to poor spending and impulse buying with some people thinking that they can shop until they dropped forgetting that when you have a credit card you have a bill to pay and that it should be paid on time every month. Students will usually miss a few payments which further adds to their student credit card debt. The debt is even more with late fees and an increase in the interest rate which is not good.

Until you pay on time consistently for six months to a year the interest rate against your credit card debt is going to stay the same. You don’t want to see your student credit card debt interest rate go into the 20’s because that’s very high and that’s usually from when someone’s missed one too many payments and was consistently late.

Being late with bills from college student credit cards each month can affect you getting credit in the near future when you try to apply for credit again with a different company.
