Student credit cards and Academic responsibilities
Responsibilities of the student with a student credit card

Having a student credit card can easily cause the student to divert his or her mind in other things such as the shopping and expenses they can do without having to consult their parents with the perception that once they have bought the merchandise or done the expense there is no way their parents will refuse to pay for it. A similar attitude to “I’d rather say I am sorry”
This diversification of the student into the pleasures and fun that he or she can obtain form a student credit card can cause that the student will pay less attention to the duties and responsibilities that he or she has after being granted a student loan or even if the student loan was not necessary in his or her case.
Furthermore, if the parents choose to take the student credit card as a punishing media and boycott his or her purchases with the student credit card “just so that he or she learns” it will cause that the credit card personnel will call the student and even drop in on campus to collect their due fees. This will not only cause a serious problem in the social perception of the student, but also will cause academic problems as he or she commences to worry firstly and foremost on the problem that he or she is currently having with the student credit card.
The student that has a credit card, regardless if he or she had a similar product before having his or her own credit card needs to be taught on the specific handling of the credit card before this product. Such learning must come before the credit card, which can be a very useful emergency tool turns into a real nightmare for both the student and his or her family.
Parents, guardians, tutors, and older siblings need to focus and deal with the issue in a mature way. If they are seeking to keep the student credit card as a punishing tool, then they need to be prepared to pay the whole amount and cancel it. Once cancelled, it can be re-applied for as many times as the student or his or her family requires.
However, this is not advisable since it can easily cause the opposite effect and force the student to drop his or her studies completely in order to provide additional cash for his or her expenses or they can choose to make a different decision that will cause additional hurt or pain.
