The ARTICLE: The bad consequences of a poorly educated student
When I arrived at my college campus I realized for the first time in my life that my parents were not going to be there when I needed to make a decision on anything and I got scared. Though I will never recognize it, I wanted to run back home –yep, across all five states- and hide beneath my bed.
However that might have seemed wonderful, there was no way I could do that, so I took a deep breath and went to accommodate my stuff at the dorm I was assigned. There was no one when I arrived so I had to choose which bed was going to be mine; I left my baggage standing at the door and sat on every single one of the three beds that were there trying them out. Not long after I had decided for one, I decided that the one beside was better so I changed and changed and changed for about 15 minutes until I got dizzy and decided to call my mom.
I talked to her and described the room in a luscious detailed description. She recommended that I take the one by the window since I am always hot at night and I cannot sleep well; I ran to the bed and jumped on the couch just as the door was opening and the second inhabitant of the dorm came in. She smiled and settled down on the first bed I thought I was going to take.
I accommodated my things and then went downstairs to collect academic schedules and other information for my first semester and was approached by several persons who were offering me a number of products amongst them were student credit cards. Each one offered me a different service and add-ons to their product; I thought that it was a good idea so I would have “emergency cash” without having to call my parents with an emergency tone and scare them the hell out.
I knew nothing about them; so I listened to what they told me and I tried to check which student credit card template was clogged with the highest number of students and decided I was going to apply to that particular student credit card. Which I did; afterwards I told my parents what I did and they scowled me for not coming to them first; they made me cry and I felt horrible.
Afterwards I guess my parents thought it over and realized that my idea was not that bad and they told me so by supporting me in the application, yet they never apolodgized.
