Urgent purchases can be covered with a student credit card
If you are deep in your study activities and you certainly do not have the time necessary to leave your comfortable dormitory, fraternity or apartment room and you have an urge for any specific item (such as toner, when you are due an important essay) that is when student credit card will come in handy.
Most stores will allow you to make phone or online purchases of the things that you need and will even offer you special delivery –meaning that they will have the item purchased delivered to your door in a short time- , of course, with a special cost included in the total amount. Though some stores, especially those who are really small and are considered the neighboring store to trust will deliver you the good with payment upon reception, most will not and they require you to pay before they ship anything anywhere.
This is a good use for your student credit card; sadly, though, if you so choose and decide to make the purchase of the items that you are so urgently in need through your credit card, you must also be prepared to pay them with an interest rate that can be scary. According to the type of credit card and the institution that issued it, the interest rate per day can go from a small point on the percentage scale to several digits; this difference will weigh heavily on the amounts that you will have to pay each month.
Before making such a purchase you need to consider how urgent is it and how desperately do you need it to finish the current work that you are conducting. Forgetting to buy things like toner, disks or any other computer or school related items is almost a natural thing, but you should prevent such events from happening by having additional supplies or at least keeping an eye on them so that you can rest and relax without making last minute shopping.
If you decide to make the purchase even though that interest rates can be over the top, then make sure to keep record of the name of the person who took in your order, time, date and amount. This information will come in handy if you need to make a claim either with the bank or credit card issuing company or with the store.
